About The Author

A smiling young woman with long dark hair and light skin, wearing a light-colored top and layered necklaces, standing in front of a graphic background with her name written in yellow script: Emily Payne.

I was fifteen when I first began writing poetry, quiet thoughts and wishes, scrawled inside a diary. Over time, I discovered how to breathe rhythm and life into those private entries.

Back then, I struggled to trust others with my secrets, my hurts, and even my joys. I was guarded, afraid to fully show myself.

Now, as an adult, I feel called to share those feelings. I've witnessed how our own thoughts can turn cold and isolating. Sometimes, we just need someone who understands, someone who’s listened, even if it’s through words on a page.
